Fly Tying Night Featuring Noted Fly Fisherman and Author Doug Lyons

Join the fly fishing and fly tying club at the Common on Thursday, December 14th. Bring your vices and fly tying materials as we'll be tying flies all evening. Beginners and experienced tyers are welcomed and there will be instruction and equipment provided. Refreshments will be served.

As a special guest, Doug Lyons, author of the recently released Fly Fishing Guide to the Battenkill (Stackpole Books, September 2023), will join us at the vice sharing his proven Atherton patterns and talking about his new book.

Doug Lyons has been fishing the Battenkill since the fall of 1977. Doug is currently a board member of the Battenkill Watershed Alliance and is part of a team helping to guide the activities of the Battenkill Home Rivers Initiative, which he helped launch. He is also a past Vice President and President of the Southwestern Vermont Chapter of Trout Unlimited. Doug's work has appeared on the Orvis Fly-Fishing Blog, Manchester Journal and UpCountry Magazine.
